Sir A.S. Technical Institute, Srinagar, Passed City & Guilds Institute London University Examination in Painting-First Grade (1st Class).

Solo and Group Shows: 

Held Retrospective show of three decade's work at AIFACS, 1983. Solo show, Shridharani Gallery, 1984.
Mounted a large exhibition of Himalayas at AIFACS, 1985. Solo show, water colours, 1990; 1991 Participated in Annual National Exhibitions of the Lalit Kala Akademi, AIFACS and Sahitya Kala Parishad, Delhi.
Participated in group shows organised by Lalit Kala Akademi, AIFACS and Sahitya Kala Parishad, Delhi.

Art Organistional Work: 

Chairman, All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society; Member: Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Resources; Advisory Committee on Art, Sahitya Kala Parishad, 1987-88; Selection and Purchase Committee, Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur, 1991-93. Selection and Purchase Committee, VIII Triennale- India.
Chairman, First World Art Conference, AIFACS, 1977.
Participated in Seminars on art organised by Lalit Kala Akademi, AIFACS, and Sahitya Kala Akademi.

Art Criticism, Authoriship: 

Editor: "ART NEWS": Asst. Editor, "ROOP LEKHA", prestigious Publications of AIFACS, till 1990.
Editor "KALA DARSHAN" - the Complete Magazine on Indian Arts & Culture; edited and produced independently for promoting Indian Arts and Culture.
Guest-Editor, LKA contemporary on the theme; "Bengal School: Its Impact on the contemporary artistic concerns:, 1993.
Authored "Trends In Indian Painting - Ancient, Medieval, Modern", covered the history of Indian painting from ancient times to our own day, 1961.
Foreword: Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.
Authored another book, entitled "Kashmir: Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim Architecture". Foreword by Dr. Karan Singh.

Awards: 

Jammu and Kashmir Cultural Akademi, 1965. Honoured as veteran Artist by AIFACS and awarded the Title of KALA VIBHUSHAN, 1988.

Visiting Lecturer on Art: 

Lectured on history of art and aesthetics at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan and College of Art, Delhi.
Lalit Kala Akademi felicitated me for my significant contribution to Indian Art & Culture on the occasion of Rashtriya Kala Mela in New Delhi. Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Govt. of India offered me Senior Fellowship for the project: History of Naturescapes in Art.
